Italian and Lombard Corpora

Listed below, you will find information about corpora with recordings in various Italian and Lombard dialects. Each depositum has an accompanying PDF file containing a brief overview of the content as well as a list of audio recordings, which is linked to the PAZ ID. Depositum Schweizer [PAZ:ar7210]
Language: probably Zimbern

Description: The collection contains swo sound recordings of texts and songs from Giazza near Verona, which were deposited in the Phonogram Archives by Dr Bruno Schweizer in 1948. The digitisation of the two sound recordings will be carried out at the earliest opportunity.
Italian in Grisons and Ticino (Depositum Delucchi) [PAZ:ar7150]

Description: The collection of 17 audio carriers contain Italian language recordings from Mesolcina (GR) and Ticino, which were made by Rachele Delucchi during her linguistics studies at the University of Zurich. These are all available in digital form.

Description: The approximately 92 minutes recording of Lombard is accompanied by time-aligned, close phonetic transcriptions according to IPA.

Corpus Broggini [PAZ:arBroggini] (PDF, 117 KB)
Language: Italian, Lombard, English
Period: Late 1960s - early 1970s
Description: The corpus consists of approximately 19.5 hours of private recordings made by Romano Broggini. The content covers linguistic research with a focus on dialectology, musical recordings (primarily TV programmes on the subject of music) and recordings of political conferences without any dialectological interest.

Description: Guido Mazzuri recorded four audio cassettes with interviews for his university thesis "Portalienisch: Aspekte des Italienischen, wie es portugiesische Arbeitsimmigranten im Grossraum Zürich sprechen" (Portuguese-Italian: Aspects of Italian as spoken by Portuguese migrant workers in the Greater Zurich Area) (1991). These have all been digitised.
