Recordings in the Archives

A brief overview

In its more than 100 years of existence, the Phonogram Archives Zurich (PAZ) has enriched its collection with a wealth of audio recordings relating to the dialects of all the languages of Switzerland. The Phonogram Archives' holdings come from two sources.
On the one hand, since its foundation, the PAZ has continuously produced audio recordings of various dialects from all over Switzerland. These are accompanied by text and audio publications published by the Phonogram Archives.
On the other hand, the Phonogram Archives have also included recordings and corpora from external research projects and private individuals in its collection.

Publications of the Phonogram Archives

We would like to present a selection of publications issued by the Phonogram Archives Zurich, sorted by language region. For each publication, you will also find short excerpts from selected recordings in order to get an idea of the publication by listening to audio samples.

We are still working on compiling a complete list of all audio and text publications and are happy to answer any questions you may have about our publications via our contact form.

Our publications can be found in our web shop which is currently available in German.

Recordings from external sources

The type and scope of external collections vary greatly. In the following overview of external corpora, the collections are roughly divided by language or topic. Each corpus is accompanied by a PDF file that provides a brief overview of the content, scope and a list of audio recordings. The PDF file is currently only available in German.
If you would like information about a specific corpus, please do not hesitate to contact us.
